🌿 Introducing: The Todhunter Botany Ramble — An Annual Celebration of Plants and Place

ree

Have you ever strolled through wild spaces and wondered about the wildflowers underfoot, the herbs brushing against your legs, the trees over your head, and the quiet woodlands just beyond the fence? At Todhunter Vineyards, we believe getting to know the plants of our wild places is a way to communicate and connect with the land, and we’d love to share that discovery with you.

Keep an eye out for an invitation to the Annual Todhunter Botany Ramble, a guided walk through our estate’s vineyards, woods, culinary, and flower gardens. Led by our owner, who holds an undergraduate degree in botany and a lifelong passion for native plants and ecological education, the Botany Ramble will invite you to slow down and connect with the natural world that thrives in and around the vineyard.

Inspired by events like PennState Extension’s Plants in the Park, this experience is designed for plant lovers of all levels—from curious beginners to seasoned naturalists. Participants will learn:

  • The basics of plant identification

  • Common (and uncommon!) species growing on the vineyard and in the 30 acres of surrounding forest

  • Botanical terminology made simple

  • How native plants support pollinators and wildlife

  • How regenerative viticulture practices are designed to integrate with surrounding ecosystems

Whether you’re a gardener, hiker, homeschool parent & student, or simply someone who loves the smell of mint in the sun, the Todhunter Botany Ramble offers a refreshing way to spend a morning outdoors, learn something new, and share the joy of plants with friends and family.

Bring your walking shoes, your questions, and your curiosity. We can’t wait to ramble with you.
