At Todhunter Vineyards, we believe in nurturing more than just vines — we believe in nurturing our community and the planet we all share. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce our year-round Todhunter Repair Café, happening once a month on a Tuesday from noon to 4 pm right here at the vineyard starting in the Autumn, 2026.

What’s a Repair Café Anyway?
A Repair Café is a community event where people bring in broken things — from kitchen gadgets to clothes, chairs to electronics — and work together to fix them instead of throwing them away. It’s a friendly space powered by local volunteers with repair skills who share tools, tips, and encouragement as everyone works on giving beloved items a second life.
Most of the volunteers are retirees who have a lifetime of skills, plenty of time, and a desire to engage and share their knowledge. These are our elders, and they have know-how that is valuable!
Unlike a traditional repair shop, everyone participates. You can bring that old toaster that stopped heating, your favorite shirt with a torn seam, or a wobbly chair, and learn hands-on how to fix it — side by side with friends and neighbors. We'll organize to have certain specialists in certain months - maybe someone who knows how to re-cane a chair will be here one month, followed in the next month by a ceramicist armed with that specialty adhesive and technique to repair your mother-in-law's favorite coffee mug that you broke!
Why Todhunter Vineyards Loves the Repair Café Movement
At Todhunter, our mission goes far beyond growing grapes. We’re rooted in community engagement, environmental stewardship, and celebrating connection. Hosting Repair Cafés lets us bring all those values to life:
Reduce Waste and Support Sustainability
We live in a world where too many items are discarded too quickly. By repairing instead of replacing, we help keep things out of landfills and cut down on resource waste — a small act with a big environmental impact. Repair Café events across the globe are part of a growing effort to shift away from throwaway culture and toward a more thoughtful, sustainable way of life.
Build Connections Across Our Community
Repair Cafés aren’t just about fixing objects — they’re about connecting people. These events bring together folks of all ages and backgrounds to share stories, knowledge, laughs, and sometimes even a glass of wine while learning new skills. They’re a chance to meet neighbors and build friendships — exactly the kind of community spirit we cherish at Todhunter.
Keep Valuable Skills Alive
Repair skills are powerful. But they’re fading in a world of ready-made, disposable gadgets. By volunteering, learning, and teaching at a Todhunter’s Repair Café, you help keep these practical crafts alive — for yourself and the next generation.
See You at the Vineyard in October, 2026!
Our Todhunter Repair Café series runs year-round, once a month on Tuesdays from 12 pm to 4 pm. Whether you’ve got something you want to fix, hope to lend a hand as a volunteer, or just want to hang out and share in the fun, there’s a place for you here.
Bring your broken treasures, bring your curiosity, bring your friends — and let’s make something old new again together.
At Todhunter Vineyards, we’re not just growing great wine. We’re growing community.
