Dog Park Days at Todhunter Vineyards: Thursdays Are Going to the Dogs!

ree

Starting in Autumn, 2026, Todhunter Vineyards will launch a new weekly tradition: Dog Park Days, every Thursday afternoon and evening!

We consider our dogs as part of the family (and we know we’re not alone!) so we will be making more room in the week for those furry companions, too. Picture this: you, your pup, a glass of wine, and a beautiful Ligonier Valley sunset over the vines. That’s your Thursday now!

What Are Dog Park Days?

Designated areas of the property will be opened as dog-friendly hangouts where well-behaved pups and their people can relax, play, and explore together.

Think of it as a hybrid between a casual happy hour and a laid-back dog park. There will be plenty of outdoor seating, open grassy areas and hiking trails for leashed exploring, and a designated off-leash play zone (where permitted and clearly marked).

It’s a chance to unwind at the end of the workday, meet other dog lovers, and let your four-legged friend soak up some fresh air and attention.

What to Expect for Your Pup 🐶

We’re planning Dog Park Days with canine comfort in mind. There will be water stations, waste stations and bags, shady spots to cool off on warmer days, photo-worthy corners for those inevitable dog-and-wine selfies.

As our Dog Park Days grow, we may add some special events! How about a “Best Dressed Pup” or “Waggiest Tail” mini-contest? Todhunter bandanas and pet tags will be available for purchase, and seasonal themed photo backdrops (Halloween, Sunflower Festival, and Harvest!). Have some ideas for us? Please let us know!

What to Expect for Humans 🍷

Of course, Dog Park Days are just as much for the humans as for the hounds.

On Thursdays you can look forward to tastings and glasses of wine, kombucha on tap, by-the-bottle purchases to enjoy on site or take home, seasonal small bites or food truck partnerships, all in a relaxed and community-focused atmosphere.

It’s a perfect excuse to grab a friend, neighbor, or coworker and say, “Let’s take the dogs to the vineyard.”

Simple House Rules (for Happy Dogs & Happy People)

To keep everyone safe and comfortable, we’ll have a few simple guidelines in place during Dog Park Days:

  1. Leashes, please

    • Dogs should remain leashed in all general areas.

    • If a designated off-leash zone is open, it will be clearly marked. In that area only, dogs may be off leash if they are under voice control and respond reliably to recall.

  2. Friendly pups only

    • All dogs must be social, non-aggressive, and comfortable around other dogs and people.

    • If your dog is fearful, reactive, or prone to guarding, Dog Park Days may need you to keep your dog in the on-leash areas.

  3. Health & vaccination

    • Dogs must be up to date on vaccinations and in good health.

    • Please skip a visit if your dog isn’t feeling well.

  4. Clean up after your dog

    • We’ll provide waste bags and disposal stations—please use them promptly and help us keep the vineyard beautiful.

  5. Kids + dogs

    • Families are welcome, but children must be supervised closely around all dogs, even friendly ones.

These rules help protect the vineyard, our guests, and your dogs so everyone has a relaxing, safe, enjoyable evening.

Why Dog Park Days?

Todhunter Vineyards has always been about more than just wine. The vineyard is a community gathering place! A place to walk the rows and woods and feel connected to the land; a place where families, couples, and friends can build traditions; a place where even the four-legged family members feel welcome.

Dog Park Days weave all of that together. It’s a weekly rhythm that encourages slowing down, getting outside, and sharing the experience with a very wiggly plus-one.
